About
Serena Aurora
Serena Aurora is an independent documentary filmmaker and the founder of Aurora’s Eye Films, based in Auroville, India.
With over 15 years of experience in filmmaking and visual storytelling, her work explores human experience, community, culture, consciousness, sustainability and social issues. Her approach is rooted in listening and creating space for people to speak openly about their lives, experiences and perspectives.
After years of travelling and documenting organic farms, ecovillages, intentional communities and sustainability projects, Serena settled in Auroville, where much of her filmmaking practice has developed.
Through Aurora’s Eye Films, she has created documentaries exploring Auroville, environmental initiatives, education, community and social change. Her current feature documentary work includes The Centre Within, exploring the Matrimandir through the voices of 75 Auroville residents; Breaking the Silence, exploring child sexual abuse, healing and the courage to speak; and Karsha Nuns, following Buddhist nuns from Zanskar through cultural exchange, education and environmental action.
At the heart of Serena’s work is a belief that documentary storytelling can create understanding, open conversations and connect people across cultures and experiences.
Could we also update the main links to:

And please remove the old WordPress website link.
For the video section, rather than keeping the three old embeds, I think it would be much better to feature the following current videos:

The Centre Within – Official Trailer

Breaking the Silence – Official Trailer

If there is space for three video embeds, these would be the three I would prefer to have embedded on the page.
I would also love the page to highlight my three current documentary projects:
The Centre Within / Matrimandir & I
A documentary project exploring people's personal relationship with the Matrimandir, told through the voices of 75 Auroville residents from different generations, cultures and backgrounds.
Breaking the Silence
A feature documentary exploring child sexual abuse, healing, prevention and the courage required to break silence around abuse.
Karsha Nuns
A documentary following Buddhist nuns from Zanskar and their journey through cultural exchange, women's empowerment, education and environmental action.
