May Auroville serve as a beacon to the world
Olivier Barot Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, addressing the audience at Bharat Nivas On February 25th, the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, paid a visit to Pondicherry and to Auroville to participate in Auroville’s golden jubilee celebrations. The Prime Minister commenced his visit at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram. He paid homage at the samadhi of Sri Aurobindo and Mother, meditated in Sri Aurobindo’s room and was shown the manuscripts of Sri Aurobindo’s writings. Thereafter he visited the Sri Aurobindo International Centre of Education and interacted with the students. He went by car to Auroville. He was welcomed at Savitri Bhavan by Dr. Karan Singh, the Chairman of the Auroville Foundation, by officials of the governments of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, by members of the Governing Board and the Working Committee of the Auroville Foundation and other Aurovilians.
