How do our children see the future city?
In the beginning of 2003 some Aurovilian moms organised a drawing
festival where children of the Auroville area and its bioregion
were asked to depict their vision of the future city!
It was great fun and kids from Transition,
Deepanam, New Creation,
Udavi, Kuilapalayam Trust School,
Isaiambalam and all night
schools coordinated by SAiier wholeheartedly participated, producing
more than 540 drawings..
During March a good selection of these artistic products were exhibited
in the Tibetan Pavilion and later on in the Centre for Indian Culture,
both in Auroville's International Zone.
Out of the 540 drawings submitted, nine were
selected. The proud winners were offered a real flight over Auroville!
They were: Satish (Transition), Arun (Udavi), Ludovico (Transition),
Tamilarasi (New Creation), Valentine (Home schooling), E. Sridhar
(AmbethnarNagar Night School), R. Rajappan (Udavi), Chandra (Last
School), A. Dhanalaxmi (Kuilapalayam Trust school).
