Building bridges through Inner Architecture

The dream of building a new city for the future on a clean slate, with the
purpose of promoting research and experimentation alongside integral
development, has been attracting architects and students of architecture from all over the world ever since Auroville´s inception in 1968. Not having pre-defined bye-laws or being bound by the conventions of human society has allowed a multitude of expressions to manifest in the course of Auroville´s development, as natural extensions of the quest for the new.

In the following pages you find the profiles of most of Auroville's
currently practicing architects and builders, along with a photo gallery of
their work in Auroville. As yet, these pages are not complete, a wider range of photos will be added and more profiles will follow.

Please note that some of Auroville's architects do not feel the need to
appear on our website, which, however, does not mean that their work is any less appreciated by Auroville or by the editors of this site.

We choose to keep their name and track of their contribution to Auroville architecture, as an archive for public information.
