Trainings are scheduled as a package on two weeks. But people can attend only one week of their choice.
The courses comprise theory and practice. The theoretical courses consist of lectures and the practical sessions are “hands on courses”. Trainees have to work by themselves if they want to learn and they should bring working clothes for the practical sessions.

Intensive courses on CSEB (Compressed Stabilised Earth Block)
The first week deals with the production of blocks and is theoretical and practical: trainees learn the basics of soil identification and stabilisation, etc. and all steps for the block production and quality control.
The second week deals with masonry with CSEB and various stabilised earth techniques developed by the Auroville Earth Institute: stabilised rammed earth foundations and walls, composite techniques, arches, etc.
Intensive courses on AVD ( Arches, Vaults and Domes)
The first week is theoretical: trainees learn the basics of AVD and how to study the stability of arches, vaults and domes.
The second week is practical: trainees learn how to build various types of arches, vaults and domes.
The Auroville Earth Institute has been conducting these kinds of training programmes since many years. These courses are opened to all kinds of skills and people: laypeople, students, masons, technicians, architects or engineers. Please contact the Auroville Earth Institute for further information.
