Pioneering projects from Auroville, India and Pakistan win
London - 24 June 2004 - The international winners of the prestigious Ashden Awards for Sustainable Energy 2004 were tonight announced at the Ashden annualawards ceremony in London. INDIA: Hemant Lamba, AuroRE, wins the award for Enterprise (£30,000) for Aurore's great triumph in acting as a catalyst for small-scale solar businesses across India, helping this vast country start to unlock its huge potential for solar power. For the second year running there is also a UK award in recognition of the role that industrialised nations can play in reducing greenhouse emissions The finalists were also personally congratulated by HRH The Prince of Wales at a separate ceremony (see below 'Notes to editors' for comment from the Palace.
