Convergence in Green Work Proposal [08]

1. Unit : Convergence in Evergreen

• Evergreen is a community located in Auroville's Green Belt that is working to preserve to TDEF ( Tropical Dry Evergreen Forest ) and raise awareness on the “convergence” of environmental issues and self-discovery through monthly workshop and courses.

Volunteers Needed: For 2 missions:
a) botanical survey
b) assistance for “Convergence” training activities

2. Work Description

Goal : Increase awareness and knowledge about the environment.

Activities :

• Conduct field surveys on the land

• Office work

• B) Assistance to the on-going organization of the courses: Updating a database of past participants, proposing ways to promote the programme.

Skills Required

• Basic knowledge of botany

• Office work experience, sense of organization, affinity for educational work.

• For both missions, some commitment to the spirit of the activities of “Convergence” is needed.

3. Time Frame : From December 2009 onwards

Duration : minimum of 2 months +
