Visitors Centre Volunteer Proposal [7]

1. Unit : Visitors Centre

• Centre for information on Auroville and the Matrimandir, with an average flow of 1500 visitors/day, 2/3 Indians and 1/3 from abroad.

Volunteers Needed:
To assist in the on-going activities of the unit.

2. Work Description

Goal :

Mission 1

Improve/create visual communications for Visitors Centre facilities.

Mission 2

Create and organize a living community life with events and cultural programmes

Activities :

Mission 1

• Assist with the inventory and document existing visual media (leaflet, posters, panels ..)

• Propose a graphic chart (concept, style, space aesthetics, etc.), incorporate it into the guidelines

• Cooperate with CSR (Centre for Scientific Research) on the ESTEA project (Exhibition of Sustainable Technology and Energy in Auroville) for the visuals and graphic designs

• Edit texts and create the visuals

Mission 2

• organize games, small concerts, music & dance performance, video-shows, etc. with the help of Aurovillians

• Publication, dissemination of information

Skills Required :

• Ability to conduct hands-on work

Mission 2

• Some experience in cultural events organisation and planning
