1. Unit : Public Library of Auroville

• Located in the Bharat Nivas complex, the AV Library is home to 27,000 books in 8 different languages.

Volunteers Needed:
To assist in the activities of the library.

2. Work Descriptions

Goal : Contribute to library work.

Activities :

• shelving books

• counter work: checking in and out book loans

• cataloguing books on the computer

Skills Required: (not all is required)

• Good basic high school education

• English language abilities

• Computer basics

• Sense of service

* Some knowledge of book technology and classification systems would be most welcome

Duration : 6 months
