1. Unit : International Zone Group

• Involved with the coordination of National Pavilions (NP) and the activities of the International Zone. Assists with the hosting and formation of new National Pavilions.

Volunteers Needed For: Gathering video materials on different cultures & organizing conferences and projects

2. Work Description

Goal: Coordinate video research material on the cultures of several different countries, allowing Aurovilians of different nationalities to discover or deepen their understanding of various world cultures

Activities :

• Meeting the National Pavilions groups, and other relevant members in the community.

• Collecting interesting video programmes and DVDs which present aspects of each culture

• Viewing video material for selection.

• Helping groups to search video materials of their respective countries

• Proposing ideas of events in Unity Pavilion in cooperation with National Pavilion groups

• Becoming involved with the organisation of conferences, debates, etc

Skills Required (not all is required)

• Good communication skills (event management)

• Internet in International cooperation and cultural diversity

• Ability to use video software

• English fluency

Age minimum of 25

3. Time Frame : ASAP, preferably from December 2009 onward

Duration : 2-3 months +

International Zone Group Work Proposal [13]

1. Unit : International Zone Group

• Involved with the coordination of National Pavilions (NP) and the activities of the International Zone. Assists with the hosting and formation of new National Pavilions.

Volunteers Needed: Organizing the inventory and identifying all of the documents concerned with the International Zone.

2. Work Description

Goal : Display all of the Int'l Zone documents and materials in the Unity Pavilion.

Activities :

• Select and identify the material

• Propose a principle of classification (indexation)

• Index books, reports and other material

• Put the documents in order

Skills Required:

• Good academic background

• Interest in the International development within Auroville and peace education

• Secretarial skills

• Autonomy

3. Time Frame : starting anytime

Duration : 3 month commitment
