1. Unit : Guest Service

• Auroville Guest Service, located on the Solar Kitchen Terrance welcomes guests to Auroville and introduces them to its life and work.

Volunteers Needed:
To assist with the activities of the Guest Services Centre during the tourist season (December-March)

2. Work Description

Goal : Welcome guests visiting Auroville and offering them information.

Activities :

• Front desk receptionist to guests

• Give information on Auroville ideals and projects, on accommodation facilities and on current activities, and short term work possibilities

• Update databases and information on website.

Skills Required

• Friendly and open character

• Ability to work under pressure, keep smiling, and maintain ease in communication

• Sense of commitment

Language skills: French fluent, good English, knowledge of other languages appreciated

3. Time Frame : December 2009 onwards

Duration : 3 to 6 months +, minimum of 3 days per week
