Cyclone update

This is to inform all that due to the extensive damage and devastation suffered by Auroville and its surrounding areas by the cyclone 'Thane', it has been decided that Matrimandir remains closed to visitors until the 18th of January 2012.
The cleaning and restoration operations will take up all our manpower, time and energy and we are unable to receive visitors during this period. It is the minimum time needed to recover from the impact of the cyclonic damage to Auroville.

We regret any disappointment and inconvenience caused by this.

The Visitors Centre of Auroville and the Matrimandir Viewing Point are both open to the public as usual.
