Milarepa
(Translated & adapted from "Milarepa", by Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt. Courtesy : Dramaparis )
The story of the great Tibetan yogi who suffers the frustrations of a young man dispossessed of his fortune and his family when his father dies, and who grows in consciousness when he finds his teacher, Marpa the Translator , who gives him, after many years of labour, the secret teachings of Buddhism.
The story is told by a narrator, Simon , a Frenchman who discovers that he was Milarepa's uncle, Swastika , many centuries ago. Living two lives, Simon asks the question: what is the difference between the world of my dreams and the "real" world? And what happens when the two worlds collide?
