Languages: Thai and English / Performance time: 1 hr.

Everyone was welcome!

The performance was interactive, with children singing along from a sheet of lyrics distributed to each one, and towards the end, the children were asked to play the jury and decide the case involving a family quarrel.

This versatile group has been established since 1995 by a well-known Thai dramatist, Janaprakal Chandruang .

All the members of the troupe have experienced a real world of drama through classic works of well-known Western playwrights, adapted works from Thai literatures and also experimental works from the actors' own experiences.

Moradokmai performances in the last 4 years have been penetrating to “What do you want to tell the audience” or “What do you want the audience to learn from the play.”

In their own words:

“For The Moradokmai Troupe, drama is not just the way to fulfill your own needs, but it is a tool to build and to mend this far-to-go society, as drama is an education itself.

“Four years ago, we have started touring a play to campuses. Choosing from among many of Thailand 's greatest literature, they have produced a contemporary play based upon a story called “PraapaiManee”. Students will explore the literature through the play. Lyrics, characters, are engraved deeply in their minds. The magic of drama gathers every heart of both teachers and students and takes them down deeply to the core of the story, allowing us to make a great discovery of a new approach towards education.

“From school to school, up North, East and West, we go. To let teachers and students know better that drama is the way to learn from each other, the way to help cope with your life and the way to take you out of any kind of risky surroundings, drugs, broken homes, or any social issue situations. This is what we believe in theatre and this is what we are.”
