The manikin doll Bendi, blithely frolicking on this
page, is a creation by Aurovilian Laurent who came in 1993 from France
and joined Auroville straight away. Having a little son and interested
in children, he started the unit 'Marayana' with as aim to create a
range of hand made items with natural elements such as cloth, cotton,
handmade paper and wood. The result is a variety of stuffed washable
toys, wooden toys, decorative mobiles, carefully designed for children
and adults.
In 2005 there has been a change in management, now the company is shifted in Kottakarai and is called "Libelle".
